One of the most important dates in the calendar, marking the fight for women’s rights and equality around the world, it’s International Women’s Day this Monday 8th March, and we’re in the mood to celebrate.
From attending specially-curated art exhibitions and dining on delectable menus at the city’s top restaurants to treating yourself to a little TLC, we round up the best ways to spend International Women’s Day this year, because we all most definitely deserve it.
We do run the world, after all…
Peruse unique pop up art from local artists
Art afficionados should make their way to Abu Dhabi this International Women’s Day, as The Abu Dhabi EDITION is hosting a pop up art exhibition alongside complimentary coffee for all ladies on March 8th. Visitors can freely peruse art from artists including Fatima Al Dhamash, Yasmin Hamadi, Holtz Javier and Gemma Gallagher, who have also adorned stylish painted takeaway coffee cups for the occasion. They will be showcasing women’s empowerment-inspired pieces inside and onto the terrace area, alongside the hotel’s very own curated art collection.
Check out Dubai’s chicest new beach club
Nestled away from the hustle and bustle at the edge of JBR, everyone is talking about Bla Bla Dubai right now. If you’ve not been down to check it out yet, International Women’s Day is the perfect excuse, as there is a complimentary cocktail on arrival, plus poolside sunbeds that make for the perfect spot for a little people-watching. We can’t think of a better way to while away the afternoon.
Indulge in some TLC
One of the most Instagrammable salons in the city, book in for a mani-pedi on International Women’s Day and the first ten ladies through the door will also receive a complimentary 15-minute neck and shoulder massage. With kitsch women’s empowerment slogans adorning the walls and fierce female tunes on repeat throughout the day, there’s no better place to show yourself you care.
Enjoy dinner with a view
Located at the top of Pier 7 offering some of the best marina views in town, Atelier M is one of our favourite spots for French-Asian fare. Book a table for dinner on International Women’s Day and ladies can enjoy a complimentary drink on arrival, followed by a mouth-watering Mediterranean menu of Wagyu tartare, grilled octopus, wild dover sole and more. We’ll see you there.
