Blurring the lines between fashion, art and science, Iris Van Herpen’s SS09 collection offered rich innovation in both the textile field and fashion arena. Her often eccentric take on fashion displays a unique flair for the imaginative; bordering on grotesquely beautiful. The collection showcased a multitude of looks utilising a combined method of 3D printing and atelier know-how, delivering a cream nude dress that appeared to be sprouting wispy branches, a morbidly beautiful layered coat in vulture-like feathers and metallic cocoon dresses.
