To be honest, for me it didn’t really change at all. Other than maybe buying a size (or two) up, I think it's really important to keep to your true self even as you are going through this lifestyle change. There is obviously a comfort factor involved when it comes to dressing, especially if you are feeding, but I encourage women to get dressed in order to feel themselves. Being a new mother can be very daunting, but dressing can help you find yourself when you're feeling exhausted and out of your comfort zone.
My style didn’t change. I dressed the same but wore my clothes a little slouchy for comfort. I used great shoes and accessories to dress up my casual outfits. Wearing activewear as outerwear is completely normal now, which is great, because it's very comfortable and chic, particularly for new mums.
I don’t really have a mum uniform, but I have embraced the sneaker trend. I can drop the kids to school, go to work and it is acceptable in sneakers. I wear them with dresses and suits and it is a game changer. When I first had my sons I would raid my husbands wardrobe for his jeans, white shirts and basic tees for a slouchy look with a cool vibe.
Definitely basics and oversized is better. Also a great handbag can really elevate a simple outfit.
I love Pernille Teisbaek and Miroslava Duma.
