#StyleOfTheWeek: Autumn’s Haute Hair Pieces

Oct 06, 2020 | 2 min read

From backwards headbands at Fendi to tie-dye bandanas at Dior, these are the hair adornments to wear now

Sure to take your video call look to the next level, autumn’s hair adornments are here to make a statement

The top down approach to adornment continues to be prevalent for the season ahead, with tiaras, headbands, scarves and bows topping the autumn/winter 2020 runways. Functional and fabulous, a printed silk bandana or a bejewelled band can hideaway a bad hair day, elevate a minimal effort do (think simple plaits, classic ponytails and natural waves) and keep unruly strays and flyways in-check.

On the catwalk, glittering hair jewels added embellishment at Giambattista Valli, Gucci and Erdem; elegant veils were spotted at Louis Vuitton, Carolina Herrera and Rodarte; and at Fendi, cushioned headbands were worn backwards at the nape of the neck.

For an edgier take on the trend, look to Prada’s sharp and shiny metallic tiara (for futuristic princess vibes). And for an effortless way to style a hair piece, opt for Dior’s series of AW20 scarves in logo-adorned cotton and silk decorated in tie-dye and polka dot prints.
