For autumn/winter 2020, Rixo founders Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey, have collaborated with the French fashion house Christian Lacroix, on a see-now-buy-now capsule collection.
Unveiled in the ballroom of Kimpton Fitzroy London, during London Fashion Week, the haute-couture inspired collection delved into the House of Christian Lacroix’s vintage archives and pulled iconic prints to rework into the new capsule.
Capturing the essence of Lacroix — a label which defined luxury dressing in the early ‘90s with flamboyant silhouettes in striking patterns — the limited-edition capsule consists of nineteen ready-to-wear looks that you can instantly add to your occasion-wear wardrobe.
“Both Henrietta and I have always been obsessed with Christian Lacroix,” said Orlagh McCloskey, Co-founder of RIXO.“On our vintage hunting trips in Paris the best pieces we’d find and love the most would always be Lacroix."
"Being let loose in the House of Christian Lacroix archive in Paris to delve into the true history and DNA of the brand was awe-inspiring. The Lacroix DNA is so in tune with RIXO’s – their vibrant visual prints and their completely individual and empowering viewpoint on style- it felt natural to collaborate,” she says.
The collaboration combines Rixos contemporary edge with Lacroix’s flair to create a colourful line of skirts, dresses and separates. Embellished with statement gold buttons, contrasting pockets, 3D rosettes, butterfly appliqués and dazzling jewels, the capsule is an explosion of maximalist design — where more, is definitely more.
