The BAFTA Awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards) took place on Sunday 18 February to honour the best of British and international contributions to film.
Barbieheimer took over summer of 2023; the two biggest blockbusters of the year, Barbie and Oppenheimer, were all anyone could talk about after the films were released simultaneously in July. While the former received no wins despite its five nominations, Oppenheimer scooped the awards for Best Film, Best Director and Supporting Actor, as well as Leading Actor for Cillian Murphy. Hot on its heels was Poor Things, which won five awards including Leading Actress for Emma Stone's role in the film. See the full list of winners below.
