Flavio Briatore's latest venture brings Monte Carlo's Crazy Fish to Dubai. Read the MOJEH review here
Billionaire Club's Flavio Briatore brings Monte Carlo’s famed Crazy Fish to Dubai’s DIFC. Set in Al Fattan’s Currency House – and next door to Briatore’s newly opened Beef Bar – Crazy Fish is a classy venue whose offering isn’t overly flamboyant or try-hard. Instead, the menu is refined and fresh. Oysters, shrimp and prawns are freshly served every day. The cooking style is mainly Mediterranean, which in large part means an emphasis on the fish itself without overbearing sauces and seasoning. Pasta dishes move from Handmade Trofie with Wild Seabass and Lemon to the more basic Spaghetti with Clams. In our experience, the only pitfall was its toffee-nosed head hostess whose demeanor was uninviting to say the least. But this was made up for by highlights such as its ambient setting in which large round tables encourage engaging social occasions, and its delightful and informed waiting staff.
If anything, Crazy Fish is less ‘crazy’ and more polished. Which can only be a good thing in Dubai’s culinary landscape where too many gimmicks lead to monthly F&B closings.
