The scent is a symbol of courage in the revelation of our true identities
Yesterday, after the brands spring/summer 2019 show in Paris, John Galliano, the creative director of Maison Margiela announced the launch of the fashion house’s new fragrance, Mutiny. Designed to reflect Galliano’s vision of the Maison Margiela women, its aim is to engage women to reveal who they really are.
“Social synergy is formed when diversity becomes our most common characteristic. The transition takes place through the mutiny of conventional definitions. When rules are broken collectively, communities transform into families. Like creativity, scent has no nationality, gender or creed. It speaks a universal language. It is the empathetic sentiment of solidarity through individuality. Creativity is our mutiny”, explained the brand in a press release.
To accompany the new scent, six “Mutinist” ambassadors have been chosen to represent the diversity and individuality of the scent including Willow Smith, Teddy Quinlivan, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Sasha Lane, Princess Nokia and Molly Bair. Each with a story to tell, they embody the attitude of the perfume perfectly.
