All the glitz and glamour at the 64th edition of Monte Carlo's Bal De La Rose 2018

Once a year, the royal family of Monaco kick-off party season with an annual gala and the first important social event of the year, the Bal De La Rose or Rose Ball. Hosted by the family of Princess Grace, the elegant soirée is where royals come to let down their hair, and where wealthy socialites and the international elite come to mingle amidst unparalleled glitz and glamour. For the past several years, Monégasque family friend and designer of Chanel and Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld, has been in charge of transforming the Salle des Etoiles restaurant at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club. Past themes have included the art-deco movement, mid-century Havana, Cuba, and Art Nouveau Vienna. To celebrate the 64th edition of the Bal De La Rose, the theme of the night was a Manhattan Ball and Lagerfeld pulled out all the stops for magical evening that celebrated the birthplace of jazz and blues. Turning out in full force was the Monégasque family, including Princess Caroline of Hanover and her daughter,Charlotte Casiraghi. The Gucci and Montblanc ambassador shined in a Saint Laurent number, confirming her rumoured engagement to Dimitri Rassam with a ring on her engagement finger.
