See what we got up to at NYFW

New York is the most thrilling of all the fashion weeks—the designers are young, the sets are innovative, and the parties last late into the night. Lucky for us, our fashion contributor Iman Hasan was on location to let us in on all the updates from the autumn/winter 16 shows and give us a peek into the excitement of NYFW.

Day 1 – 11th February 2016

Excitement is heightened as we prepare for the first lot of shows to get underway. The weather is cold but fresh, and the style stars of the world are dressed to impress, carving their way through the city.

A wash of camel, navy and black can be seen descending the runways offering a steady selection of wardrobe samples for the season ahead.

Dreamy fabrics drape models in a sumptuous layering of textures, incorporating fur and lace to many designs.

Frills, feathers and all things feminine are revealed with in a visionary tale of supreme elegance. 

Day 2 – 12th February 2016

With one day under our belt navigating through the streets is becoming a less daunting task. Yesterday’s viewings are sharp in our minds as we look forward to our second day in the big city.

A fresh take on winter flora with girly hues of powdered pink and vibrant lavender.

What a finale! We got more than we bargained for, with double the looks and double the drama.

Classic monochromatic palettes with rich inclusions of violate and crimson gave sophisticated glamour to the runway.

Day 3 – 13th February 2016

The freezing temperatures are not damping our spirits just our wardrobe. We move quickly grabbing breakfast on the go and trying to avoid and the impending clouds of doom.

Carefree elegance breezed by with warm winter woolies and eighties video game-inspired embroideries.

Romantic silhouettes came just in time for Valentine's Day, with intricate lace details and garden patterns.

Day 4 – 14th February 2016

The pitter-pattering of high heels and rain merge together as the only sunshine to be seen comes from the vibrant colours painted across the clothes of strangers. We walk with heightened pace to avoid any irreversible damage to our perfectly styled hair.

Inspired by nature, the smooth and silky silks silhouettes caress the body in what looked like melted metal.

Day 5 – 15th February 2016

Starting the day with some pampering, nothing like a new do to up your street style game.

We hit the deck as nautical romance took to ship and the captains of Tommy’s a/w16 liner sailed down the runway.

Day 6 – 16th February 2016

Street style photographers line the pavement ready to capture all the best fashion. We make a quick twirl for the camera as we make our way to our first stop, Michael Kors.

Equestrian inspired beauties are mustered up for the unveiling of Tory Burch’s autumn/winter show.

Day 7 – 17th February 2016 

We start the day with a yummy continental breakfast and a super sized coffee to get energized for a day full of fabulous fashion.

Steaming inspiration from the 1927 sci-fi film Metropolis and the illustrations of artist Daria Petrilli’s we see femininity fused with architecture.

Day 8 – 18th February 2016

Today marks the last day on our NFW schedule. The week saw many standout show but we have been saving the best for last, first stop Ralph Lauren!

We went made for plaid and layered up in soft cashmere.
