Pasta, popsicles and party-goers: the newly launched Sorrento brunch at Roberto's marries fine-dining with the vibrancy of the Mediterranean

While the days of living la dolce vita may seem but a distant memory now that back-to-work is in full swing, Roberto’s is savouring the carefree days of summer with its Sorrento brunch. Taking place every Saturday in the heart of DIFC, the Sorrento brunch drenches Roberto’s in summer hues - think: yellow-and-white stripes and playful lemon decor - and evokes the vibrancy of the Mediterranean through live performances and upbeat tunes.

The Sorrento brunch is a lively affair apt for big groups, party-goers and foodies that are keen to get involved in a dance break between courses; there are plenty of innovative cocktails and house pours to ensure dance moves are top-notch.

Roberto’s’ award-winning cuisine is presented in a sharing-style menu, opening with a procession of cold starters including premium oysters, buffalo mozzarella with melon and marinated Mediterranean anchovies doused in vinaigrette and best enjoyed heaped upon freshly baked bread. As for the hot starters, gratinated mussels and veal prosciutto-wrapped monkfish prepare tastebuds for the main courses, which kick off with bite-sized lasagna croquettes and sinful, cheese-stuffed panzerotti.

Mains consist of two pasta dishes; both the hearty gnocchi bathed in tomato sauce and calamarata pasta adorned with clams and saffron are comforting while remaining in-keeping with Roberto’s’ elevated approach to Italian fare. Sorbets, fresh fruit, cannoli and miniature cakes make up a generous dessert offering, complemented by spirit-infused popsicles handed out by dancers, which act as a refreshing digestif before the after-party begins at 4PM.
