The fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival will be taking place in Old City Jeddah, bringing the best of cinema and Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage together

With over 120 films from 80 different countries being screened this year, the fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival will showcase a variety of talent under one roof. The festival will have local talent alongside industry heavy-hitters screening their work, giving creatives in the fraternity an opportunity to explore everything in the cinematic realm.

International actors Aamir Khan and Emily Blunt are set to be guests of honour at the opening ceremony. A-listers Andrew Garfield, Kareena Kapoor, Nick Jonas, Olivia Wide and Ranbir Kapoor will also be part of the In Conversation strand that takes place every year as part of the festival. Heading this year’s jury for the Festival’s Red Sea: Features Competition is director Spike Lee, adding another layer of excitement to this year’s competition.

Dubai-based Danish-Palestinian director Mahdi Fliefel’s To A Land Unknown, Indian director Reema Kagti’s Superboys of Malegaon and Egyptian director Khaled Mansour’s Seeking Haven for Mr Rambo are just some of the titles being screened under the competition's main category. On the other hand, the ‘New Saudi, New Cinema’ programme of the festival, which is dedicated to promoting Saudi voices in the industry, will be showcasing 21 films this year, including shorts.
