The Maker Space, brought to life by Kidzink, is a pop-up hub at Dubai Design District (d3) where creativity meets hands-on learning. Open to people of all ages and backgrounds, Maker Space offers a series of dynamic workshops, from beginner sessions to masterclasses, designed to enhance skills across design disciplines. The lineup brings together regional and international universities, design collectives, small businesses and cultural institutions, each sharing their expertise in everything from sustainable design to the latest creative techniques. TukTukDum by Altqadum

Inspired by Gulf musical traditions, TukTukDum reimagines the table as a space for interaction, inviting audiences to step into the design itself and become part of the performance. Created by Altqadum, this piece blends function with experience by allowing people to sit within its unique, cut-out surface—perfect for sparking connection in public spaces or adding a touch of originality to home gatherings. Crafted with traditional techniques and organic materials, TukTukDum transforms the conventional table into an immersive experience, making it a standout at Dubai Design Week.

Editions

The 10th edition of Dubai Design Week welcomes Editions, the region's first art and design exhibition dedicated to limited-edition works. Taking place within Downtown Design, Editions showcases pieces from established and emerging galleries, design studios and collections across a range of mediums. Highlights include collections by Emirati designer Aljoud Lootah, a curation of regional artists at Dubai-based Gulf Photo Plus and exclusive prints by pioneer of Arab art, Dia Azzawi.

Marketplace

Taking place on 9 and 10 November, the Dubai Design Week marketplace showcases over 70 unique brands in the heart of D3, allowing visitors to explore the region's finest artisans, entrepreneurs and small businesses while strolling through the district. What's more, this celebration of heritage, culture and craftsmanship offers plenty of interactive activities and workshops - including pottery and jewellery making - alongside food trucks and live music.

DesertBoard

As the official Sustainable Material Partner for this year’s Dubai Design Week, DesertBoard brings eco-innovation to the forefront with its engineered palm-based boards (PSB). Made locally from repurposed UAE date palm fronds, DesertBoard’s PSB material is used in all festival signage and the information desk, showcasing a sustainable, zero-emission alternative to traditional wood. These durable boards are fire-rated, moisture-resistant, and free from harmful VOCs, supporting cleaner indoor air and reducing carbon footprint. Designed to be recycled or reused, DesertBoard’s eco-friendly materials exemplify a forward-thinking approach to sustainable design. Check out their booth in Building 6 Atrium to learn more.
