Dubai’s street culture festival, Sole DXB, returns this weekend to d3 with a cool, curated pop-up space dedicated to British brand Burberry.
Located in the Dubai Design District, Burberry’s pop-up is a two-storey, custom-built space inspired by the label’s redesigned flagship store at 121 Regent Street in London. Also mirroring the Mall of the Emirates boutique in Dubai, the pop-up recreates the spirit and attitude of the heritage house.
Stocked with pieces from Burberry’s latest collections for men and women — including the covetable Pre SS20 Lola Bag in tan, black and tweed — the pop-up showcases a range of Riccardo Tisci’s designs, with a special area devoted to the new Arthur trainer and another solely centred on Monogram motif products.
Outside, the Burberry logo is sprawled across the exterior of the space, with a rotating beacon-style Thomas Burberry Monogram sat at the top of the structure. As visitors walk into the pop-up they will meet a scaffolding globe installation, before stepping into the Burberry-beige interiors.
Made from an array of materials and textures, the space is a mash up of mirrors and high-gloss finishes fused with contemporary street elements.
The ground floor features a blank wall to freely illustrate and decorate in your own creative style — a concept that was developed at the house’s Bond Street store.
Take a wander to the second floor to find an unexpected roof terrace – with panoramic views of both the festival, and Dubai’s glittering skyline – where a series of events with occur throughout the three-day festival.
