Haute Hangouts: L’Amo Bistro Del Mare, Dubai Harbour

2 min read

A newcomer that has Dubai’s foodies buzzing, L’Amo Bistro Del Mare celebrates riches of the sea in a spectacular setting

Overlooking the rippling waters of the Dubai Harbour Yacht Club, L’Amo Bistro Del Mare – or just L’Amo to those in the know – serves up some of the finest Italian fare in Dubai. Equally impressive is the setting, which is a top contender in MOJEH‘s books for most beautiful interiors in the city. L’Amo is airy, elegant and drenched in natural light, courtesy of floor-to-ceiling windows offering unobstructed views of Ain Dubai, Dubai Marina and the Arabian Gulf. Even if you aren’t planning on staying for dinner – inexcusable behaviour, if you ask us – at least stop by for an expertly crafted sundowner on the terrace to soak in the view.

It only takes a glance to determine the authenticity of L’Amo’s cuisine; a steady stream of Italians – young, not-so-young, groups and couples – file in throughout the night. It is a tribute to the Italian coast, therefore the menu is a symphony of seafood-adorned classics including spaghetti with sea urchins; mussel gnocchi; and saffron risotto topped with langoustines. Of course, carnivores aren’t left out of the festivities – there is plenty on offer for meat eaters.

Kick off your culinary journey with a tartare trio of tuna, seabass and red prawns, best followed by a refreshing salad to offset all the sinning to come. For mains, you can’t go wrong with the tagliolino abundant in fresh mussels, clams and razor clams. If you are keeping sinning to a minimum, order the John Dory fillet drizzled with lemon butter sauce; the delicate, fall-apart fish is a stand-out sharing plate perfect for two. End your evening on a sweet note and sample the desserts, if you still have space. The delightfully bouncy panna cotta, hazelnut mousse-filled profiteroles and tiramisu are MOJEH highlights.

Why not send off 2022 while overlooking the ocean? L’Amo is welcoming the New Year with a specially curated menu of holiday classics including black truffle-sprinkled burrata and lobster-stuffed ravioli, paired with grape hand-picked by the sommelier. While you tuck in, enjoy live music throughout the night and a stellar fireworks display when the clock strikes twelve.

Brought to Dubai by Sunset Hospitality and Mine & Yours Group – otherwise known as the masterminds behind Chic Nonna, DRIFT Beach and SushiSamba – L’Amo Bistro Del Mare may be a drop in the ocean as far as Italian restaurants in Dubai go, but you won’t find a more precious pearl. Book now
