La Mar by Gastón Acurio has foodies filing into Atlantis The Royal in search of fantastic views and spectacular ceviche

Dubai has been buzzing about Atlantis The Royal since its January opening thanks to spectacular views, palatial grounds and a plethora of luxurious restaurants helmed by some of the world’s most renowned chefs. Case in point? La Mar by Gastón Acurio. Hailing from Lima, Peru, La Mar captures the vibrancy of the Peruvian city through authentic flavours and whimsical gastronomy, all while offering guests breathtaking views of the Dubai skyline and skyblaze fountain.

If you’re after a decadent dinner affair take a seat in the sprawling restaurant or outdoors on the terrace when weather permits. Short on time? Grab a seat at Dubai’s first ceviche bar and sample the finest raw offerings in the heart of the action. After settling in and grabbing a drink – La Mar’s comprehensive mixed-drinks menu is centred around Peru’s national beverage, but offers an impressive selection of bubbles, grape and classics, too – helpful staff provide an in-depth explanation of the menu and are more than happy to guide your culinary journey.

Zingy, refreshing and oh-so delicious, the ceviche platter is a must-try

There is no better way to begin an evening at a Peruvian restaurant than with ceviche and La Mar’s is hands down the best MOJEH has ever had; order the ceviche sampler to try three. Continue warming up your tastebuds with lujoso (bluefin tuna tiraditos); pulpo al olivo (octopus and avocado on toast); and anticucho de pollo (fire-kissed chicken thighs off the grill). You can’t go wrong ordering any one of the generous mains, whether stir-fried wagyu beef or the delicately grilled lobster, though be sure to leave some room for dessert as the picarones – a Peruvian interpretation of a humble donut – are a must to end the evening.

Bluefin Tuna, Nori & Pickle Rocoto Sauce comprise the Lujoso Tiraditos

Chef Gastón Acurio has founded and expanded restaurants around the world, feeding foodies in over 45 restaurants scattered across 11 countries; his first restaurant ranked No.1 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants and he has continued to be present on prestigious lists ever since. After an evening at La Mar, it’s easy to see why. Book now
