The brand has partnered with PETA and the Humane Society of the United States in order to put an end to animal exploitation in the fashion industry
With brands such as Gucci, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Versace and Burberry no longer using fur in their collections, the pressure is mounting for others to follow suit. Now, Diane von Furstenberg is the latest company to announce it will be going fur-free.
Although fewer than 15% of DVF’s autumn/winter collections since the 2015 have included fur, exotic skins, mohair, and angora, the fashion house will cease production and use of fur in all upcoming collections from the start of 2019.

“It’s time for us to make this change and accept responsibility to ensure that we don’t promote killing animals for the sake of fashion,” DVF’s CEO Sandra Campos wrote in a press release. “We are committed to supporting the shift to a more ethical and sustainable fashion industry by providing the consumer with innovative and sophisticated alternatives.”
“I am so excited that technology has provided us a way to feel as glamorous with faux fur,” DVF chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg said in a press release, adding that the decision to go fur-free is part of a larger-scale project to create a more sustainable fashion industry.
