While London Fashion Week served plenty of fashion inspiration, from JW Anderson's ode to British nostalgia to Erdem's Greek odyssey, beauty looks were equally impactful. Many makeup artists experimented with colour; red lips stormed the runways of Roksanda and Molly Goddard while Simone Rocha stole the spotlight with rose-adorned brows. Here, MOJEH rounds-up the stand-out beauty from London Fashion Week.
Red Alert
The red lip is a classic that never goes out of style; from shocking brick to seductive merlot, catwalks were awash with statement-making pouts. The key to making colour last? Apply the colour, hold a tissue overtop and dab on a translucent powder for stay-all-day coverage.
High Brow
Eyebrows have undergone plenty of transformations over the years: bushy, barely-there, bleached. London Fashion Week saw multiple iterations, but the real show-stopper was makeup artist Thomas de Kluyver's work at Simone Rocha. He took an artistic approach by turning brows into florals; first covered with foundation, roses and vines were later painted on in delicate swirls.
The Eyes Have It
Whether winged, smoked-out or adorned in artwork, eye makeup can be transformed depending on mood and moment. Feeling fierce? Go for an all-out smoke with kohl and black shadow. Rather get creative? Make like Bora Aksu and add abstract details to the lid that extend to the temples, keeping the rest of the face bare to avoid overwhelm.
Au Natural
Generation Z are championing the no-makeup makeup movement with an emphasis on skincare and enhancing - rather than concealing - natural beauty. Bahrain-based brand Noon by Noor let the clothes do all the talking with hydrated complexions, while models at David Koma were positively glistening from head-to-toe.
