The nude nail has always been a favourable choice. Subtle and charming, the sweet lacquer is the perfect base for any outfit or accessory. At LFW, nude has been given a bold makeover, channeling femininity, attitude and a dash of drama. It's the one polish you should invest in for AW15.
Dak's collection stretched beyond the brand's signature and revealed a new side to Creative Director, Filippo Scuffi. His collection seamlessly combined feminine florals, strong biker jackets and bold dresses, with models wearing intricate nail designs that evoked the movement away from Dak's heritage. The dramatic manicure combined a soft nude background with intermittent smudge effects in red and black shades. The unfinished look was created from a palette of colours featured in the collection, with the motto being: 'the key is in the detail'.
A timeless manicure that feels feminine and floral is what decorates the nails featuring in Holly Fulton's show. Coated in a pastel violet shade with application perfection, the look is flawless. Complimented by soft blush, pale purple shadow coating the lids to the browline and a hint of pink on the lips, this effortless new look is a floral palette worthy of the catwalk.
The soft, neutral nails from JW Anderson are gently covered in a sheer nude polish creating a misled impression of perfect nails without any coverage. JW Anderson's approachable look is easy to replicate with one coat of a sheer natural shade and overcoat.
Differing from the nude nails dominating the catwalk, Julien Macdonald makes a bold statement with long scarlet nails, adorning a strong square edge and bright colour. Coordinating with the red shade painted on the model's lips, this eye-catching manicure is the optimum accessory for a day-to-night beauty regime.
