Treatments to Try

As techniques advance, experts have been able to hone and advance their techniques, leading to off-shoots of microblading that create more real-to-life brows that mimic natural hair flow. Be sure to ask for these treatments on your next visit to the salon...

Microshading

Otherwise known as powder brows, this is a great semi-permanent option for those with skin types unsuitable to microblading such as rosacea, alopecia, diabetes, those going through chemotherapy or clients with excessively oily skin. “It’s less invasive as it uses a digital cartridge pen to spit out the ink, only lightly scratching the skin and leaving dots to give a powder effect look,” explains Jalaf.

Microfeathering

A semi-permanent makeup technique in which blades and/or needles are used to add pigment to the skin, microfeathering is essentially an updated version of microblading, mimicking individual hairs and giving brows a lifted, feathery, natural look.

Ombre Brows

A combination of microblading and microshading, this technique uses hair strokes at the front and powder at the end to give a softer, more natural look
