"Eid celebrations call for elegance with a touch of festivity!" Dubai-based celebrity hair stylist Maggie Semaan tells MOJEH. "Over the past few weeks, I've noticed a rise in opulent and unique hairstyles that make a statement. These trends can be styled beautifully for the occasion." As Eid approaches, Maggie reveals the four hair trends dominating this season's looks.
Hair Jewellery
Expression is the name of the (hair) game this Eid. Maggie encourages extroverts to go all-out by elevating their hairstyle with accessories, such as "delicate pearls, gold chains and jewelled pins woven into braids or sleek buns. Hair jewellery can be customised with gold or pearl accents for a regal yet modern Eid look."
Sculptural Ponytails

A far cry from the practical pony that is hastily secured while running errands, the Eid alternative takes a high-fashion approach, with the season championing "structured ponytails with exaggerated volume or intricate twists," says Maggie. "Sleek, sculptural ponytails complement traditional outfits, adding a contemporary edge."
Soft Waves

"Glossy, ultra-soft waves with a luxe finish, often paired with a centre part," were adored by street stylers this season, and its elegance translates just as well to Eid celebrations. "Soft waves give a timeless, graceful finish, perfect for both day and evening gatherings."
Bold Braids

Put a contemporary spin on a classic with the addition of accessories. "Long, polished braids with metallic threads or statement accessories are an elevated look," says Maggie. "Braids with embellishments work well with headscarves or can be styled into intricate up-dos for a chic, effortless take."
