It’s time to master the art of bright cheeks. Fresh-faced models were all over A/W16 runways with an infectious rosy, healthy glow and this excessive use of blush has now bled into S/S17. Not only is a flushed palette lightweight and easy-to-wear, but it’s among the easiest and prettiest makeup techniques to try yourself.

During the darker months, it’s inspiriting to inject a lively dose of blush into an already flushed cheek, and it’s a trend that’s already been worn by the likes of Petite Meller and Kristen Stewart.

A light sorbet shade compliments all complexions and suits a rich, autumnal palette of soft bronzed eyes. The less is more approach works well for office hours, but be bold and experiment with a strong colour at the weekend.

Remember during application that a darker shade should be swept generously just underneath the cheek, followed by a lighter shade, which can be used to blend away any harsh lines along the cheekbones.
