Elie Saab’s autumn/winter16 Haute Couture show delivered an incredible array of show-stopping gowns embellished with theatrical feathers, intricate stones and shimmering sequins. However, it wasn’t just the clothes that wowed, French makeup artist Tom Pecheux was responsible for creating the show’s beauty looks which were simple yet striking and effective.
Pecheux gave models a sweeping above-lid cat eye with bold black liner.
Lips were lined and filled with a rich crimson matte lipstick.
To emulate this look for an after dark event create a smooth base with foundation and apply a primer to eyelids to ensure liner stays in place. Opt for a liquid or gel liner and sweep upwards in an angular motion rather than following the natural curvature of the eyelid. Select an oil-based or liquid lipstick and apply after lining and defining the lips. Complete the look with soft 1920s style waves or an elegant updo.
