Eyes could be your boldest statement for AW15. Take a little inspiration from these New York designers who blurred the lines between accessories and beauty.

Proenza Schouler revamped the simple, clean beauty routine associated with the Proenza woman by introducing an unexpected flare of abstract eye detail. The bold swipe of thick black MAC Chromacake covering the inner eye contrasts with the smooth, flawless skin and untouched lips, making a bold statement about the designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s vision of their ever changing clientele. ‘They’re still the [Proenza] girls,’ Hernandez added backstage after the show.

Black eye liner has dominated the runway so far and Victoria Beckham and Marc Jacobs have adorned the smoky eye and black kohl combined with a soft palette of natural tones for a harsh contrast. A hero welcome to the dark shades associated with the winter season.

Oscar de la Renta offered a more feminine take on the highlighting of eyes and luxuriously long lashes with an exaggerated feline flick giving the host of models dressed in the brands elegant designs large, transfixing eyes.

Light, natural skin juxtaposed with dashes of dark, harsh tones dominated the runways until Rodarte broke the trend and offered an ageless alternative to the go-to black lash. They showcased an AW15 collection full of delicately hand-beaded dresses and gentle sequin embellishment and the attentive detail didn’t end there. Sparkling Swarovski crystals hugged the lower lash lines of the swarm of models that took to the runway, adding a strong powerful element to neutral tones. Eye jewellery is the latest innovation born from the forward-fashion event that is NYFW and the meticulous application of show stopping detail isn’t confined to clothing.
