Tell us about Smashbox Cosmetic’s latest foundation?
Studioskin 24 Hour Full Coverage Foundation is actually the first full-coverage foundation to be launched by Smashbox. Coming from a brand with its roots implanted in studio photography, we are obsessed with foundation that looks photoshoot-ready and flawless – which is why we were the first brand to invent foundation primer.

What makes this foundation so special?
As a full-coverage foundation, it has a very surprising texture, because you cannot really feel it on your skin – it’s totally weighless. It has a matte-finish with oil-control properties, a blurring/perfecting effect, and is waterproof, sweat and humidity-resistant, but also contains hyaluronic acid, which adds moisture and means your skin won’t look cakey.

Why is perfect for event season?
As far as foundations go, you couldn’t find a better one to wear during party season when you’ll have your picture taken a lot! It’s also cruelty-free, like everything else from Smashbox.

The cruelty-free, full-coverage foundation comes in 40 shades

What’s the best way to apply it?
First of all, apply a primer – you may need to apply two different kinds of primer to your T-zone and your cheeks if you have combination skin, rather than the same one all over. The foundation is highly-pigmented, so a little goes a long way – you’ll only need a pea-sized blob, pumped onto the back on your hand, to cover your whole face perfectly. And always use a foundation brush, buffing the foundation into your skin in small circles, starting in the centre of the face.

How many shades are available?
With a full-coverage foundation, it’s so important to get the right shade. Studioskin 24 Hour Foundation comes in 40 shades, and has colour-adaptive technology, so allow 60 seconds to let the pigment settle into the skin before you decide upon the colour you are going to use. Use the Smashbox method of getting the best match – swatch three shades that you feel are closest to your natural skin tone, wait one minute until the colour has settled, then chose between them.
