Caroline Greyl knows that there’s more to tantalising tresses that good genes. The secret to mastering bedhead locks is the result of healthy hair achieved through a regimen of good haircuts and gentle maintenance.
Her brand, Leonor Greyl, creates a range of haircare products; drawing on both Caroline’s father and her husband’s extraordinary knowledge of botanicals and natural products. All treatments are environmentally safe and boast delicious aromas, as well as plant extracts. Leonor Greyl is also one of the first industry leaders to incorporate vitamins in their shampoos, which gives hair more brilliance and beauty.
Caroline took a break from running her 450 salons to share her beauty tips exclusively with MOJEH.
To protect your hair from external aggressions and regenerate it at the same time, there's nothing better than a pre-shampoo oil treatment! Two to three capfuls of Huile de Leonor Greyl for each application, worked through the lengths while dry, right to the tips, is enough to take care of your hair. Brush your hair after applying the oil, and feel free to re-apply during the day.
Oiled hair is ideal for various hairstyles: Bohemian braids, high or low ponytails, and ‘messy’ buns. Oil gives an ultra glossy finish and leaves your hair delicately perfumed. For these hairstyles, choose Huile Secret de Beauté – a delicate and easy to apply oil. You can leave it on as long as you wish, up to 24 hours, and even apply it to your body to give a satin-smooth finish and to prolong your tan!
I never go on holiday without Huile de Magnolia, a must-have for the summer. It is one of my favorite products. This multi-purpose product can be applied to the body to soothe your skin at the least sign of irritation, to prolong your tan and it can be used as a make-up remover for the face. Once you start using this, you'll find it difficult to stop! Don't forget to protect you scalp from UV too. If, in spite of these precautions, your scalp becomes sunburned, replace your shampoo with Crème aux Fleurs. This cleanser will calm your scalp and rehydrate it thoroughly.
Don't forget to use a gentle shampoo like Shampooing au Miel for fine hair or Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou for thick hair. Use after every dip in the sea or pool. This is essential for removing sand, salt and chlorine, and for reducing the aggressive effects these have on the hair fibre.
Each time you wash your hair, particularly if it's long, treat it to a restorative rest by applying a conditioning mask on the lengths and the ends, leaving it on for three to five minutes on towel dried hair before rinsing. If your hair is very dry, do not rinse your mask off completely so that over time its effect is prolonged.
