The stars shone bright on Hollywood’s biggest night dressed in a bounty of sparkle and glitz. See our roundup of the most extravagant jewels on the red carpet.
Dakota Johnson. Though she wasn’t one of the night’s nominees, Johnson shone on the red carpet in an asymmetric shouldered gown by Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent. She accessorised her look with $2 million worth of diamonds from Forevermark which included four diamond bracelets weighing in at 28.03 carats.
Nicole Kidman. Determined to out-glitz her contemporaries, Kidman paired her sequined Louis Vuitton column gown with 100 carats worth of Harry Winston diamonds, including a pair of emarald-cut diamond and platinum studs, an 82.14 carat diamond and platinum bracelet and an emerald-cut 16.5 carat diamond solitaire ring and diamond band.
Zoe Saldana. Fresh from giving birth to two twin boys in January, Actress Zoe Saldana radiated on the red carpet, pairing her Atelier Versace blush gown with a 100 carat pear shaped baguette and round-cut diamond and plantinum necklace by Neil Lane, worth a cool $1 million.
Gwyneth Paltrow. Upping the tempo with her one-shouldered Ralph & Russo gown was Paltrow, who donned a stunning pair of Anna Hu Fire Phoenix earrings made of two pear-shaped cabochon Rubellites set in white gold and white and yellow diamond – along with blue, pink and purple sapphires. Paltrow also accessorised with a ring from Hu crafted with a rare 6.26 carat pigeon-blood Burmese ruby, pink diamond and a brilliant-cut white diamond, set in rose and white gold.
Felicity Jones. Maintaining Old Hollywood glamour in an Alexander McQueen ball gown, Best Actress nominee Felicity Jones added a glamourous touch to the proceedings with a set of Van Cleef & Arpels 18 carat white and yellow diamond earrings set in white gold which she paired with a snowflake diamond and platinum bracelet.
Anna Kendrick. Dressed in a Grecian inspired custom Thakoon gown, actress Anna Kendrick sported Norman Silverman diamonds in the form of 13 carat marquis and pear-shaped diamond cluster earrings, paired with a five-row diamond collar.
