Reptilian Melancholia
SEPTEMBER TWENTY FOURTH, TWO THOUSAND AND TWELVE

Riccardo Tisci was born in TarantoItaly, a city mythologically sentient with the ghosts of mermaids and marines. It’s understandable therefore, that Tisci has never strayed too far from the fantastical in his collections for both Givenchy ready-to-wear and haute couture. He bought attention to the Givenchy brand with his conceptual leanings, from ready-to-wear shows featuring white-clad models drifting around a white orb, to thunderously melancholic couture collections.

His experimentation in minimalism of form is evident in the sleek boxy shape of this clutch. Whilst his fascination with languid, gothic touches is evident in the visceral skin of lizard and abstract, warped clasp. A handheld masterpiece, the Orchid Minauderie’s khaki tones will bring warmth to a Paris Fashion Week-appropriate all-black ensemble.
