No-one has mastered the aesthetic of exaggerated functionality like Sonia Rykiel.  While most designers work tirelessly to mask the functional features of a piece, Sonia Rykiel has turned function into high-fashion.  Her high-function lens contrasts stitch colors, accentuates heels and, in the case of this beauty, even adds laces (the most functional of design elements) that are non-operative.  It appears we may have finally transcended the form-function barrier.
