The stalemate at Paris fashion week was broken recently with the appointment of Hedi Slimane as designer for Yves Saint Laurent, replacing Stefano Pilati.  These exquisite platform shoes, designed under the watch of Pilati, with khaki suede, gold tips and white lace heel celebrate the rebirth of YSL under Pilati and mark the hand-off to the aesthetic radical and perfectionist that is Slimane.  The future is all kinds of bright for the house of YSL.
