Frida’s Femme
SEPTEMBER TWENTY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND AND TWELVE
Frida harked back to a different era to portray the familiar Gucci femme fetale for Fall. She encapsulated a sexiness that was soft and rich and fully in-tune with Autumn/Winter’s opulent disposition. Models wore wine-stained lips, hair twisted from their pale faces and flowing in soft tendrils.
The clothes evoked a similar brooding, poetic decadence as Gianni offered floral patterns in flocked velvet and tapestry-inspired jacquards, alongside revealing sheer silk which referenced the ascendency of the female nude in the Pre-Raphaelite period she alludes to throughout the collection. Do you dare to bare?
